11 Jul : 08:34 - WishboneHey guys!
Chigga, nice average result especially for a beginner. I don't know what are you aiming with the target 5 mins, but for recreational freediving and spearfishing you actually don't need such bottom time.
As a matter of fact 5 mins dynamic apnea is quite an impossible target.
10 Jul : 22:33 - Chiggai'm a beginner have been practising for some weeks now my time is 1 1/2 min.avg my hope is to reach 5. so i need your guidance wazzers

14 Jan : 13:45 - WishboneHey dimitris, I have stumbled upon Natalia Molchanova's training programs before. It's really really demanding... I'd try to look for it again though - hope it's not in Russian...
11 Jan : 21:45 - dimitrisIs there any information about training programs for the pool?
20 Nov : 11:04 - VovAnd welcome to wokao123!
01 Nov : 10:10 - WishboneWarmest welcome to our newest member Gletwin from the SA national spearfishing team!
29 Oct : 20:33 - WishboneMaaan! Besides the fact that I envy you big time, I guess the further south you go the colder it would get.
I'd suggest AT LEAST a 3mm. suit in ANY case. As for the speargun - if you don't expect open wate, then a reliable 100-110 cm gun will be just fine.. I'd suggest a sturdy aluminum railgun - less maintenance and can take more beating. A 6.5 shaft is a good average choice. A reel is a must.
Please make sure you get familiar with the local spearfishing laws and also about any dangerous marine life, including non edible species (poisonous or ciguatera)
Cheers and keep us posted!
29 Oct : 20:08 - SandHi Sol and welcome to spearfish.org i dont know how much is the sea temperature there but from this depends what gear you should use - most important things are mask, fins, speargun - then wetsuit, gloves, socks
and of course the belt which depends on your wetsuit, if you are not experienced try to not go alone for spearfishing
also read the SPEARFISHING section on the right of the site and you will have a very detailed info about spearfishing
it will take you half hour maximum
i cant answer to your question exactly because i am very addicted to spearfishing and if i go to mexico
i will do only spearfishing and nothing else
29 Oct : 19:56 - solhi- am new to this site, also to typing. am leaving in 2 mons. for an extended tripdown the coasts from mexico to argentina.Have done some spearfishing when i lived in costa rica, but really am a beginner.I intend to take two spearguns and a limited amount of gear as i will be backpacking, hitching and riding horses. If you guys were doing this, what gear would you take to cover your needs with the minnimum amount of weight?I don't anticipate any open water probably more rock and reef. Also was considering documenting our trip.Would appreciate any helpfull comments,Thanks-Sol
